Yonah (Kim) Martin has spent her life building bridges between different cultural communities. Born in Seoul, Korea she immigrated to Canada with her family in 1972, settling in Vancouver, BC. In addition to her 21-year career as an educator in the Abbotsford, Burnaby and Coquitlam school districts, Ms. Martin co-founded the C3 Society (www.c3society.org) in 2003; has served on the Multicultural Advisory Council of BC since 2006; volunteers on several boards and committees; and is dedicated to mentoring youth and young adults.
In 2004, Ms. Martin received the Spirit of Community award for Cultural Harmony and was awarded the 2009 Order of Korea Moran Medal from the Government of the Republic of Korea. Married to Doug Martin since 1990, she is a proud mother of their daughter, Kiana Mi-Sun.
