The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in a televised session at 11:11 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Marlene Catterall, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Gord Brown, Hon. Sarmite Bulte, Marlene Catterall, Sébastien Gagnon, Maka Kotto, Bev Oda, Yasmin Ratansi, Gary Schellenberger, Mario Silva and Scott Simms.

Witnesses: Telefilm Canada: M. S. Wayne Clarkson, Executive Director; Michel Pradier, Director, French Operations and Quebec Office; Ralph Holt, Sector Head, Feature Film; Charles Bélanger, Chair, Board of Directors.
Maka Kotto moved, — That In the opinion of the Committee, the federal government must tighten its policies in telecommunications so that Canada entirely control broadcasting on its territory and that the Chair report this to the House of Commons. .
Debate arose thereon.
M. S. Wayne Clarkson made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
