The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 11:05 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Joe Preston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Rodger Cuzner, Claude DeBellefeuille, Yvon Godin, Michel Guimond, Randy Hoback, Hon. Marlene Jennings, Tom Lukiwski, Joe Preston, Marcel Proulx and Scott Reid.

 

Acting Members present: Mike Allen for Guy Lauzon, Robert Carrier for Michel Guimond and Pierre Poilievre for Guy Lauzon.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michel Bédard, Analyst; Andre Barnes, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Peter Milliken, Speaker of the House of Commons.

 

Witnesses: House of Commons: Audrey O'Brien, Clerk of the House of Commons; Louis Bard, Chief Information Officer; Claire Kennedy, Chief Financial Officer. Office of the Chief Electoral Officer: Marc Mayrand, Chief Electoral Officer; Rennie Molnar, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Electoral Events; Gisèle Côté, Chief Financial Officer.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(vi), the Committee commenced consideration of matters relating to the election of members to the House of Commons.
 

Marc Mayrand made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 11:58 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:03 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (C) 2009-2010: Vote 5c (House of Commons) under PARLIAMENT referred to the Committee on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.
 

The Chair called Vote 5c under PARLIAMENT.

 

Hon. Peter Milliken made a statement and, with Audrey O'Brien, Louis Bard and Claire Kennedy, answered questions.

 

Vote 5c under PARLIAMENT carried.
