STUDY ON POST-MARKET SURVEILLANCE OF PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS, PRESCRIPTION AND NON PRESCRIPTION: TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE STUDY
In January 2008, the Standing Committee on Health will commence a study on the post-market surveillance of pharmaceutical products, prescription and non-prescription.
The focus of the study will be on the federal government’s role with respect to: - capacity for monitoring, surveillance and research;
- compliance and inspection;
- public access to information; and,
- adverse reaction reporting.
The Committee will begin its study by hearing from relevant federal departmental and agency officials. |
ÉTUDE DE LA SURVEILLANCE POST-COMMERCIALISATION DES PRODUITS PHARMACEUTIQUES D'ORDONNANCE OU EN VENTE LIBRE : MANDAT DE L'ÉTUDE DU COMITÉ
En janvier 2008, le Comité permanent de la santé amorcera une étude de la surveillance post-commercialisation des produits pharmaceutiques d'ordonnance ou en vente libre.
Cette étude portera sur le rôle du gouvernement fédéral à l’égard de :
- l’organisme de réglementation;
- la capacité de surveillance et de recherche;
- la sécurité du consommateur;
- le respect et l’inspection;
- l’accès à l’information pour le public;
- le signalement de réactions négatives.
Le Comité amorcera son étude en recevant des représentants d’agences et de ministères fédéraux pertinents. |
